CBCT Level 1 Training for General Practitioners

23-10-2024 8:00 am GMT -4:30 pm GMT
€650.00

The Faculty of Dentistry, RCSI is pleased to announce a CBCT Level 1 Training Course for General Practitioners, which will be delivered in a hybrid format.

Do you refer patients for CBCT?
Do you get the scan back with no report?

“CBCT for general practitioners” aims to assist dentists who refer patients for cone beam scans to get the most from their scans. Course content will be delivered through a blended approach, with online pre-recorded lectures covering the theoretical aspects of cone beam computed tomography, and in person practical tuition on the viewing, manipulation and interpretation of CBCT images.

The syllabus for the course has been structured to meet the Level 1 training requirements as described by the European Academy of DentoMaxillofacial Radiology and mandated by the Dental Council of Ireland.

Regulatory inspectors will frequently ask dental practitioners who use CBCT if they have Level 1 and Level 2 training. Successful completion of this Level 1 training program will allow practitioners progress to a Level 2 course which covers the subject matter for those who take their own scans.

Topics covered in this course will include, radiation physics, radiation protection, regulation in Ireland, radiographic anatomy, and the radiographic appearance of pathology.

The hands-on component will be held face-to-face on Wednesday, October 23rd 2024 at RCSI’s state-of-the-art academic and education building, located at No. 26 York Street, Dublin 2.
