The Faculty of Dentistry of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) was founded in 1963 with the core mission of advancing the science, art and practice of dentistry by the promotion of education, study and research.
The Faculty provides education, accreditation of programmes and quality assurance through examination of postgraduate dental professionals in Ireland, the UK and internationally.
With over 3,000 Fellows, Members and Diplomates globally, the Faculty's international role is expansive and encompasses, in particular, the Middle East and Gulf Region, North America, Sudan and Sweden.
The Faculty offers both general dental examinations (Diploma, MFD, MGDS) and specialist fellowship examinations (FFD, FGDS). It also provides lecture-based and hands-on courses for dentists wishing to update their knowledge and actively pursue additional postgraduate qualifications.
