Professor John Walsh from the RCSI Faculty of Dentistry was awarded the Best Teacher 2022 Award at the Excellence in Medical Education Award Ceremony that was held in Doha, Qatar on March 14th 2023.

Professor Walsh, a former Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, is the full time Program Director of the Joint RCSI - HMC Specialty Program in Paediatric Dentistry in Qatar. This collaboration between RCSI and Hamad Medical Corporation has been in existence since 2015, and to date all 11 Residents from the specialty program have successfully passed the FFD examination in Paediatric Dentistry.
