The Faculty of Dentistry RCSI hosted a Post-Primary Careers Day event on Saturday, January 18th, 2020.

Below is a short video with some highlights from this years event.

Below is the recording of the live stream from the morning information sessions of this event.

The Event

This event offered secondary school students an opportunity to learn more about the science and art of dentistry. The Faculty of Dentistry developed this innovative and exciting event in collaboration with University College Cork, Trinity College Dublin, and Queens University Belfast.

On the day, teachers from the four institutions presented information to prospective students on undergraduate and postgraduate dental training opportunities available to those wishing to pursue a career as a dentist. Students had the opportunity to speak with senior academic staff, consultants and specialists from different sectors of the dental profession, as well as current undergraduate and post graduate students. Admissions teams were on hand to explain the entry requirements for each course offered. Furthermore, those attending were given first-hand experience of what it might be like to work in dentistry, with interactive stations and “come and try” sessions in a range of areas including digital dentistry, suturing and radiology.
