Upcoming Courses Autumn

The Faculty of Dentistry RCSI's CPD Postgraduate Lecture Programme is now in its eleventh year and Paediatric Specialty Dental Education Programme is now in its fourth year.

Facing the challenges brought by the current Covid-19 pandemic and conscious of our committment to provide postgraduate education as a pillar of our activities, we are delighted to announce that for the first time ever both of these programmes will be delivered in the format of an online viewing.

Commenting on the upcoming programmes, Prof. Albert Leung, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry RCSI, said “We are delighted to welcome you all to another splendid season of our flagship Postgraduate Dental Education and Paediatric Dentistry Specialty Programmes. We have enlisted many very relevant and stimulating contemporary subjects from speakers well known in their fields of practice to deliver the lectures. I would like to highlight the special Christmas Special Session on December 12 featuring Keynote speaker Dr. Charles Bertalomi and we look forward to you welcoming you to our programmes”.

The purpose of the CPD programme is to provide a learning opportunity for dentists and their team members away from the busy dental practice or other working environments, to allow them to update their knowledge in a comfortable environment, and also to facilitate those who are actively pursuing additional postgraduate qualifications. A fee of €50 per module applies, however it is worth noting that Faculty Affiliates, along with all good standing Fellows, Members and Diplomates, are eligible to register free of charge.

The Paediatric Specialty Programme offers insights to the specialty and golden opportunities for the discerning practitioners to broaden their understanding and knowledge in contemporary Paediatric Dentistry. We are delighted to once again offer these modules free of charge for all to attend. Register here.

Another event not to be missed this Autumn, is the Faculty’s Annual Scientific Meeting, which will be delivered completely on-line on Saturday, 31st October 2020. Commenting on this event, Dean Leung said "We have carefully chosen topics relevant to practice and some pertinent aspects of Covid-19 will be explored and discussed by specialists in their fields. We also will have the prestigious Edward Leo Sheridan Lecture to be delivered by Professor Stephen Porter and speakers from all over the world spanning across the time-zone from Australia through Europe to North America. This is a not to be missed event which you can take part in from the comfort of your own home and we look forward to welcoming you”. Full programme details coming soon at asm.facultyofdentistry.ie
