The Faculty of Dentistry, RCSI is proud to announce an exciting collaboration with the Tissue Engineering Research Group (TERG) at RCSI, to provide support for a MSc studentship in Biomedical Engineering and Regenerative Medicine.

Translational Dental Research MSc Studentship
Project: The aim of this project is to develop biomaterials to target dental and maxillofacial tissues and processes for repair and regeneration. The first phase will focus on development of a suitable multi-functional scaffold biomaterials to (A) promote inherent tissue regeneration using autologous maxillofacial cell sources and (B) optimise scaffold design and properties to maximise regenerative potential.
Candidate: The ideal applicants will have a BDS degree from a Dental School on the island of Ireland, a Diploma and/or MFD from FoD RCSI as well as one years work experience in GDP/DCT/Foundation. Specific skills which would enhance a candidate’s application would include experience in some of the following areas: biomaterials, tissue engineering, cell culture, molecular biology. Tuition fees, at standard EU-student rate, will be covered by this award. Ideally applicants will be no more than 2 years post-dental qualification and will have appropriate working visa requirements. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. English language certificate IETLS = 6.5 or above; or confirmation of primary degree completed through English.
