The Faculty of Dentistry RCSI support for the citizens of Ukraine
We have looked on in horror and disgust since February 24th 2022 as events unfolded in Ukraine. With every day that passes by since then, we have seen the immense courage, dignity and determination of the Ukrainian people in resisting the aggressor, including those who have paid the ultimate prize, their lives. We have also seen reports of indiscriminate bombing of the civilian population and atrocities committed.
RCSI has issued an unequivocal public statement on March 1st 2022, strongly condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine and expressing severe concerns about the unavoidable humanitarian catastrophe that follows.
Our President, Professor Ronan O’Connell wrote to RCSI Fellows, Members and Alumni on March 4th 2022 expressing our support to the global effort to assist the Ukrainian people and practical measures taken by RCSI. 123 St. Stephen’s Green was being lit in the national colours of Ukraine.
The Faculty of Dentistry RCSI is completely supportive of the President and RCSI, and would like to take this opportunity to ask all our Fellows, Members, Diplomates and Affiliates to join the efforts of your colleagues at RCSI to support the people of Ukraine in every way that we can.
Professor Albert Leung
Dean, Faculty of Dentistry RCSI
