The Faculty of Dentistry, RCSI, notes with sadness, the death of poet, Brendan Kennelly.
Brendan delivered the third Fergal Nally Lecture for the Faculty of Dentistry, RCSI in the Albert Lecture Theatre in 2007.
The former Professor of Modern Literature at Trinity College Dublin passed away on October 17th at the age of 85 in his native Kerry surrounded by family. Professor Emeritus at Trinity College Dublin since he retired in 2005, he had moved home to his native north Kerry in recent years, living in a retirement home not far from the historic village of his birth, Ballylongford.
Brendan will be fondly remembered as a great poet, novelist, teacher and for his great intelligence and wit. He is a loss to his much loved family, to Trinity College Dublin and to the entire country.
