MFD Part 2 Exam
& Intensive Revision Course, Bahrain

The Faculty of Dentistry is delighted to announce a once off face-to-face MFD Part 2 exam will take place at RCSI Medical University of Bahrain on Wednesday November 9th, 2022.

Exam Format

The MFD Part 2 exam to be held in Bahrain will consist of 7 face to face OSCE Stations (written paper), followed by 1 structured Viva (structured and standardised discussion of the contents of 4 OSCEs).

Qualification

Successful candidates are awarded the prestigious internationally renowned qualification (Membership of the Faculty of Dentistry) from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

Preparatory Course:

The Faculty of Dentistry RCSI is pleased to announce a 2-Day Intensive Revision Course for the MFD Part 2 which will be held on November 7th & 8th at the RCSI Medical University of Bahrain. 

This course is designed for candidates intending to enter the MFD Part 2 examination and will be delivered by Senior Examiners of the Faculty of Dentistry, RCSI, including the Dean, Professor Albert Leung; Vice-Dean, Dr Patrick Cleary, Chair of Education, Professor Gerard Kearns; Chair of Postgraduate Programmes, Professor John Walsh; International Postgraduate Adviser, Mr Sean Sheridan; Chair of the MFD2 Exams, Dr Grace Kelly; Specialist Prosthodontist, Dr Ammera Radhi; and Consultant Orthodontist, Dr Ebrahim Al-Awadhi.

The course will be delivered through examination focused lectures, seminars, group discussions and mock examination sessions.

100% of those who participated in the Faculty‚Äôs recent MFD Preparatory Course held in Doha, Qatar (June 2022) were successful in the exam.

FAQs - MFD Part 2 (Face to Face Exam)

The face to face MFD Part 2 exam will be held in Bahrain on Wednesday, November 9th 2022.

The MFD Part 2 exam to be held face-to-face in Bahrain will consist of a) 1 written paper which contain 7 OSCE Stations, and b) 1 structured Viva (structured and standardised discussion of the contents of 4 OSCEs).

The online MFD Part 2 exam consists of one 90 minute assessment and includes 15 OSCE/Clinical Scenario based questions, where you enter your response online. The contents of the traditional Viva have been incorporated into the extra questions within the online paper.

Yes, whether MFDRCSI is awarded online or face-to-face, the examination is of exactly the same and equal standing.

The online MFD Part 2 exam will continue for the foreseeable future and current online exam dates are available up to December 2022.

The face to face MFD Part 2 exam in Bahrain is a standalone exam. Further MFD Part 2 exam sittings will continue to be held online.
